Nathan Barley

Nathan Barley is a Channel 4 sitcom about a fictional twenty-something loathsome London media type, written by Charlie Brooker and Chris Morris

Described by his own creator as a 'meaningless strutting cadaver-in-waiting', the character originated on Charlie Brooker's TVGoHome, a website parodying television listings, as the focus of a fly-on-the-wall documentary called ~censored~

After the cult success of TVGoHome, the name 'Nathan Barley' was frequently used pejoratively towards those whose lifestyles were satirised by the series

Nathan Barley is a webmaster, guerrilla filmmaker, screenwriter, DJ and in his own words, a 'self-facilitating media node'. He is convinced he is the epitome of urban cool, and therefore secretly terrified he might not be, which is why he reads Sugar Ape magazine — his bible of cool

In reality however his 'output' is of no real interest to anyone but him and his immediate friends. The website consists of stupid pranks caught on camera, photos of him with attractive women and photos of him standing on street corners in major cities around the world. He is of the belief that because he has a camera, some knowledge of web publishing and some webspace, this makes him talented

The humour derives from the fact that since the rapid rise of the internet and the explosion of digital television, actual publishers and broadcasters think that such drivel is worthy of attention. Barley and his fellow idiots are often hired/published ahead of actual journalists and talented writers trying to make intelligent points, such as the earnest documentary film maker Claire Ashcroft, and her brother Dan Ashcroft, a jaded and apathetic hack who, having written an article for Sugar Ape entitled 'The Rise of the Idiots', is disgusted to find that 'the idiots' in question — Nathan and his contemporaries — have adopted him as their spiritual leader

The Mutant Pig With A Monkey Face

Shock and awe fill the newsroom from today’s WTF headline, hailing all the way from China. As opposed to the expected lab-bred superhuman clone army you may expect to hear about in a weird feature from China, the following picture is filling the minds of readers full of shock and awe. With no further ado, the mutant monkey faced pig…

Yes, that pig has a face with strikingly eerie resemblance to a primate. Wtf is going on here?

The pig is apparently owned by a man named Feng Changlin. After the pig was born in his village, he quickly told his neighbors that something weird was going on with his new piglet. It didn’t look quite right. Word quickly spread and like moths to fire, neighbors of course gathered around to see the spectacle and offered their sage, professional scientific insight, as neighbors tend to do.

In an interview with a Chinese paper, Feng claims that the pig looks really similar to a monkey, from lips, eyes, to nose to mouth. He went as far to say its rear legs are a bit longer than its forelegs, causing it to jump as opposed to walking.

Feng’s wife also added on that the piglet was born along with four others, all of which look normal. Their son keeps feeding the pig, as to see how it will grow up.

“Our son likes to play with it, and he stopped us from getting rid of it. He even feeds it milk.”

The ongoing question to this is definitely wtf?!, and it occurs on several levels.

Is it even possible for a pig to have monkey features? I would think the answer should be no, but according to the Daily Telegraph, human pig embryos have been given the go ahead by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. I have no idea what all that research entails, but the end result is genes of primates and pigs mixed together. With their more laxed ideas about genetic research, there is no telling what China is doing in its labs and has villagers assisting with in their daily lives.

A colleague also asked about the possibility of a monkey literally ‘porking’ a female pig, and giving rise to this abomination. All points considered, I suppose the physics and mechanics of a pig and monkey would allow them to do the dirty pazookie all night long. I don’t think there would be enough genetic similarity in each other’s reproductive needs to have fertilization take place. But you never know.

This pig could also represent a random mutation (see human face fish in image to right and video below) or maybe it’s just Chinese media pulling shenanigans on us.

What I do know is that the idea of a mutant monkey pig sounds cool on paper, but in appearance, it’s pretty messed up. Just think, as the field of controlled genetic manipulation advances, animal concoctions such as our mutant monkey pig face will become far more common .

Various Artists - Mellow Dubmarine: A Reggae Tribute to The Beatles

This is a good album for any fans of reggae or the beatles or both. This album is a bit hard to find on the net so thought I would up load it. Various artists cover beatles classics, the result is a mixed bag. Some songs work better than others but overall a very good listen.

Doves - The Last Broadcast

First post of many I hope, thought i would start with an album that is a personal favourite of mine, The Last Broadcast by Doves. I think this is one of the truly underated bands of our time, and this album is probably their best, and pure class from beggining to end. I have the other 3 released albums by Doves, (Lost Souls, Lost Sides and Some Cities) which i will probabaly post at some point but if you would like them sooner let me know. Enjoy.

For Grizzly Man, Herzog used sequences extracted from over 100 hours of video footage shot by Treadwell during the last five years of his life, and conducted interviews with Treadwell's family and friends, as well as bear and nature experts. Herzog also narrates, and offers his own interpretations of the events. In his narration, he depicts Treadwell as a disturbed man who may have had a death wish toward the end of his life, but also refuses to condemn him for this.

Download the file onto your PC

Using a memory stick, transfer the folder named ‘PS3 onto it.

Now insert the memory stick into you PS3.

When inserted into the PS3, go to the Game icon and go into the ‘Saved Data Utility’ folder.

You should see an icon at the top saying ‘USB Device (STORAGE DEVICE)’

Click into it and you should see all the PES files. Tap Triangle and select copy for all the files.

Thats it!
