History Channel - IlIegal Drugs (Opium)

Here is an interesting documentary brought to us by the history channel. I think this is one episode of a series they did but its the only one I have. The documentary focuses on opium, and how its evolved through time into heroin.

The U.S. vs. John Lennon (dvd-scr)



The U.S. vs. John Lennon is a 2006 documentary film about British musician John Lennon's transformation from a member of The Beatles to a rallying anti-war activist striving for world peace during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The film also details the attempts by the United States government under President Richard Nixon to silence him. The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and its North American premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. It was released in New York City and Los Angeles, California on 15 September 2006, and had a nationwide release on 29 September. A soundtrack composed of John Lennon tracks was released by Capitol Records and EMI on 26 September 2006.

Zeitgeist Addendum

Zeitgeist: Addendum, a 2008 documentary film produced by Peter Joseph, is a continuation of the film Zeitgeist, the Movie. The film discusses the Federal Reserve System in the United States, the CIA, corporate America and others, concluding with the advocating of the Venus Project, created by social engineer Jacque Fresco. The movie premiered at the 5th Annual Artivist Film Festival in Los Angeles, California on October 2, 2008, and was released free online on October 4, 2008. According to director Peter Joseph, the film “attempts to locate the root causes of this pervasive social corruption, while offering a solution”. In conclusion, Addendum stresses the need for belief systems to embrace the ideas of emergence and interdependence and outlines concrete steps that can be taken to weaken the monetary system. The film suggests actions for “social transformation”, such as boycotts of large banks, the mainstream media, the military and energy companies; rejecting the political structure.

Grizzly Man

"For thirteen consecutive summers, the American Timothy Treadwell moved to Katmai in the Alaskan Peninsula to live among the grizzly bears, with the pretext of studying and protecting them. In 2003, his girlfriend Amie Huguenard and he were surprisingly attacked and ate by a bear. Werner Herzog somehow accessed more than one hundred hours of footages filmed by Timothy and released this documentary, showing the life and death of Timothy Treadwell"

For Grizzly Man, Herzog used sequences extracted from over 100 hours of video footage shot by Treadwell during the last five years of his life, and conducted interviews with Treadwell's family and friends, as well as bear and nature experts. Herzog also narrates, and offers his own interpretations of the events. In his narration, he depicts Treadwell as a disturbed man who may have had a death wish toward the end of his life, but also refuses to condemn him for this.

Zeitgeist

A very interesting conspiracy documentary about religion, 9/11 and banks in America, this was recommended to me by a friend and i suggest you also watch it if you ever have two hours free.

This is a DVDrip of Following Sean. It is a follow up to the original short "Sean" made in 1969, it's about 1960's culture in America and change among other things. It's a really interesting watch and it's probaly worth seeing just for Pink Man. Trailer Below:
